April A. Wilson is a writer, director and editor. She draws upon her experiences as a young African-American woman growing up on Chicago’s South Side. She’s inspired to make films about self-identity ranging from race to gender to orientation to religion and how identity influences our life and choices.
April holds a BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in Film and Television and a MFA in Cinema Directing from Columbia College Chicago. She is a Film Independent Project Involve Fellow. She is based in Los Angeles.
